Tracks deal with deep ICT foundations of data ecosystems, including large-scale, virtualized infrastructures, hosting ecosystem services and processes. Ecosystems require a novel approach to ICT technology development, closely related to the engineering of complex systems. DEBST 2018 encompasses the technological advancement for data ecosystems evolving and operation, presents contributions in various application domains, drawing on the convergence of science and engineering studies, policy makers, business, and the society.
The approach acknowledges the need for radically increasing the involvement of above stakeholders within our future smart planet and the underlying complex cyber physical systems. Domain examples include the future of logistics and production, governance and security, energy systems, healthcare systems, and citizen involvement. In the longer term, approaches for enabling collaborative ecosystems promise to lead to high-impact solutions for today´s most pressing challenges in above domains.
The tracks will identify domain requirements, research challenges and systems solutions with respect to the concept of Digital Ecosystems, Smart Planet and Complex Cyber Digital Systems, as outlined in the background and objectives of IFIP DEBST 2018. Within this context and radical innovations, the tracks will focus on, but not be limited to, issues like - scalability and availability, heterogeneity, elasticity, utility, mobility, security and privacy, integrity and trust, risk management, resource effectiveness, and evolvability.
